Community Cultivation
Community cultivation is essential for the success of the grass roots nonprofit organization.  In this class, participants identify  the need, benefits and processes for community cultivation.  They will also learn how to build community partnerships, budget and allocate resources for cultivation and identify how community cultivation requires a cross functional approach for success. 


Diversity Marketing
Your program has a created a welcoming environment . Are your marketing materials representative of the entire community you serve?   In this class, participants will learn how to infuse the message of diversity and inclusion into their marketing materials. They will also learn strategies for diversity and inclusion for program materials, brochures and their organization's web site.


Fund Development

Non profits rely on fund development to build their organization's capacity.  In this course, participants will learn to identify the difference between fundraising and fund development and the role each has in building a nonprofit.  They will also learn how to prepare an organizational readiness assessment, create a fund development calendar and research grant opportunities.  They will also learn the Board's role in fund development and how to build corporate relationships to further the organization's fund development plan.


Special Needs
Your program serves a diverse community.  However, the inclusion of individuals with disabilities in recreational programs can often be overlooked. In this class, participants will earn how to create an environment that invites and welcomes individuals with disabilities. They will also learn how to make program adaptations and how to obtain additional volunteers to work with individuals with special needs.


Volunteer Management
Organizations that emphasize short term volunteers adopt a different volunteer management practice than organizations with a need for more sustained use of volunteers.  In this course, participants will learn the different types of volunteers and which can best support their organization.  Also, they will learn strategies for volunteer recruitment and retention, how to write a volunteer job description and various methodologies for screening.  Lastly participants will learn how to create a culture that is welcoming to volunteers, allocate sufficient resources to support volunteers and how to utilize volunteers in their organization's recruiting efforts.
